| It is now vital for a company to
have a form of proper risk management system in
place. In order for companies to avoid heavy
penalties they must carry out risk preventative
procedures and implement safety statements in the
workplace. Safety statements identify hazards
associated with the actual activity carried out by
the business.
The responsibilities for managing, implementing,
maintaining and understanding health and safety,
affects all levels of an organisation from senior
executive management levels right through to the
individual employee. It is essential for basic
health and safety management, to have policies in
place that fulfil the spirit and the letter of the
law.
Generally when the risk assessment/safety
statements are completed in-house or by an external
consultant, they can tend to be a once-off or at
best updated irregularly, if at all. This can result
in existing Safety Statements being out of date and
inaccurate.
