DAS has developed a Health & Safety product which
provides a complete solution for small to medium
businesses and organisations by providing a Legal
Expenses Policy to protect the business.
The Policy
incorporates:
- Legal Defence in respect of Criminal
Prosecutions brought under Health & Safety
Legislation
- a safety statement, tailored to the
individual business and associated Health & Safety
Documentation
- Helplines consisting of a
Health & Safety Helpline, a Legal Advice Helpline, a
Counselling Helpline and a Health & Medical
Information Helpline.
We aim to equip employers to be able to provide
evidence that they have identified hazards and risks
in a structured way which is a requirement in any
defence of prosecutions being brought by the Health
& Safety Authority. The process is highly BUSINESS
SPECIFIC, the user selects the appropriate sector
and within each sector we have identified over 90%
of common issues which have been identified over
numerous on-site audits of these specific business
sectors.
The Audit is conducted through the
completion of a Questionnaire specific to the
particular business. The Questionnaire then takes
the risks down to WORK-PLACE specific individual
items within that business sector. The various
questions provide a comprehensive and detailed
breakdown of the Health & Safety scenarios likely
to arise in that specific business sector workplace.
The Questionnaire includes a facility for additional
items to be referred to and whereas this product
solely relates to on-line audits conduct off site it
may be more appropriate, depending on the
circumstances, to have an on-site conducted. This
can be organised separately. There is a helpline
which is available initially when completing the
questionnaire, and at all times during the duration
of the Insurance Policy.
The safety statement and risk assessment are kept
under constant review and updated as required in
light of changes to legislation, legal precedent,
evolving best practice, and annual review at policy
renewal time.
